Get Dental Veneers in Asheville

When it comes to effectively covering up flaws, dental veneers can produce some incredible results. But what exactly is a veneer? Dental veneers are thin shells made out of porcelain or a specific type of composite material. At Rebol Family Dentistry, each veneer a patient gets is custom made. Your dentist cements the dental veneer to the front side of the affected tooth during your appointment.

The procedure is quick and painless, and our veneers can be used to treat a variety of dental conditions. This includes:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Slightly crooked teeth
  • Chipped teeth

Some people get dental veneers in order to cover unsightly spaces in between their teeth too. Many of our patients opt to get six to eight dental veneers instead of just one in order to keep a symmetrical smile. The most commonly applied area for veneers? The top front eight teeth. Inlays, Onlays and Fillings

Inlays, onlays and fillings are minimally invasive restorations that are made to teeth that have a mild to moderate amount of decay. They can be made of composite resin material, porcelain (or sometimes gold) by a dental laboratory. Since they typically are made from tooth-colored material, these restorations are virtually invisible, creating a natural-looking smile.

Dental Inlays

Historically speaking, dentists used inlays instead of fillings to treat patients that have experienced a minor loss in tooth structure due to decay. Dental inlays are made to fit inside the tooth and used to be produced with gold in Asheville.

Modern dental inlays are produced with ceramic, porcelain or a special type of dental composite that is tooth colored. Do you have an old filling that is causing extra tooth sensitivity or pain? Dental inlays can be used to replace defective fillings. Our dentists use a special bonding process to seal the inlay to the tooth that can actually improve the strength of the tooth.

Dental Onlays

So what about dental onlays? Not only do they fit inside the tooth, but they also extend onto the chewing surface of a back tooth. This can replace one or more cusps. Traditionally, onlays were also produced from gold, but most of our patients in Asheville request tooth colored onlays today. Ceramic or porcelain onlays can also be bonded to the tooth in a way that will help improve the strength of the tooth.

Most patients have a difficult time deciding whether a dental inlay or onlay can be used in place of a crown or cap. if you have any questions, use this form to get more information.

Dental Fillings

A filing represents the simplest form of dental restoration. During this procedure, your Asheville dentist will remove the decayed structure of the tooth. The resulting space is then filled with a white (composite) or silver (amalgam) dental filling. This is a quick procedure at our dental clinic, only requiring one visit.

Get A Dental Crown in Asheville

In cases of severe decay, old fillings or a cracked tooth, a crown may be recommended. A crown is a prosthetic positioned over a tooth to create a smoother look and enhance strength and durability.

Common Reasons To Get a Dental Crown

Dental crowns are one of the most popular dental services we offer at Rebol Family Dentistry. Not only can a dental crown be used to fix a variety of conditions, but the procedure can help significantly extend a tooth’s life. The procedure is also completely safe and basically painless.

If you are not familiar with a dental crown, picture it like a helmet or protective hat that covers all (or most) of the tooth that is visible above the gums. Modern crowns look completely natural and they can also help strengthen the tooth too! Here are just a few of the reasons that our patients in Asheville have gotten a dental crown:

  • Having a cavity that was too big to be treated with a filling
  • Wanting to treat cracked, worn down or otherwise compromised teeth
  • To protect restored teeth following root canal treatment
  • Wanting to cover up discolored or otherwise aesthetically compromised teeth

Most dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. We now offer patients state-of-the-art computerized dentistry, the Cerec 1 Visit Crown Procedure.

Cerec 1 Visit Crowns

With the Cerec system, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish. The Cerec procedure can simultaneously design and mill, enabling our dentists to prepare perfectly fitted ceramic restorations in one patient visit – with huge savings to our patients in time and laboratory costs. Because there is no lab bill, Rebol Family Dentistry is able to pass that cost savings on to you.

Call us today at (828) 253-5878 if you’d like to learn more about this system and getting a dental crown at our dental office in Asheville.

Full & Partial Dentures Available For Patients

Dentures and partials are prosthetic teeth that replace some or all teeth in an arch. Dr. Rebol and Dr. Sparks offer many different options for dentures – from custom tooth setups to mimic your natural teeth, to more economical but equally appealing options. Dentures also can be combined with dental implants for an excellent functional, stable and aesthetic result. Our dentists also can evaluate existing dentures for proper function and make the appropriate suggestions for improving wearability.

Types of Dentures

There are two standard types of dentures offered at Rebol Family Dentistry:

  • Conventional dentures – Conventional dentures are not fitted for our patients until after their mouth has had time to fully heal from the tooth extraction.
  • Immediate dentures – As the name implies, immediate dentures are fitted before the teeth are extracted. Patients can begin wearing these dentures almost immediately, but they do require several more fittings than conventional dentures. This is because the shape of your mouth can change significantly during the healing process following a tooth extraction.

We also offer partial dentures for patients Asheville. This is a preferred option if only a few of your teeth are being removed. Partial dentures are similar in function to a dental bridge with the added benefit of being removable.

Tooth Bonding

Our dentists use tooth bonding to repair damaged teeth. The procedure involves the application of a tooth colored composite material (resin) and can be used to repair chipped, fractured, decayed or discolored teeth. These are also conditions that can be treated with a veneer, but there’s a reason that patients opt for tooth bonding instead. Dental veneers are produced in a lab and must be customized for the patient. In contrast, tooth bonding can be achieved in one visit to our dental clinic in Asheville.

Did you know that bonding is one of the least expensive and easiest cosmetic dental procedures for patients?

How dentists use a composite resin for this procedure that can be shaped and polished in order to match the surrounding teeth. While bonding is most often used for discolored or chipped teeth, it can be used to:

  • Cover up spaces between teeth
  • Improve the shape of a tooth
  • Improve the color of a tooth
